Le Chalet d’Adrien

Set at the base of the Savoleyres cable car, Le Chalet d'Adrien occupies a corner of Verbier reached on foot from the village's central square. The building is built of wood in the local chalet style, its form echoing the farm structures once common through the Bagnes valley. Rooms, suites and one apartment fill the interior; select units open onto south-facing balconies that look across to the Alps. It is a compact stay, but a layered one. Two restaurants, a bar, a spa, a pool and a fitness room occupy the ground levels, alongside lounges where guests gather before or after skiing. From the terrace, the view runs over the rooftops of Verbier toward the surrounding peaks. The village itself sits within the Valais region, in the commune of Bagnes, an area long shaped by grazing and, later, skiing. Verbier draws skiers all winter, arriving via Geneva or Zürich airports and the rail stations at Lausanne, Sion or Martigny. By car, Geneva is roughly an hour and a half away; Martigny is closer, at around 25 minutes. You can walk from the chalet to the lift in a few minutes, skis in hand. The result is a small hotel with an outsized position: close to the slopes, close to the village, and built in a style that belongs to the valley rather than imposed on it.
