Legendary Nyasi Tented Camp
Nyasi Tented Camp stands in the Lamai Wedge, the northernmost tip of the Serengeti, where the Mara River runs along the western edge of the territory. Eight tents are set beneath acacia trees beside the river. From July through October, the Mara River crossing season plays out daily at multiple points along this stretch, and the camp's position puts you close to those crossings — wildebeest and zebra pushing through fast water while crocodiles wait.
The Lamai Wedge is a narrow triangle of land at the top of the Serengeti ecosystem. During crossing season, herds move through this area before turning south again when the short rains arrive in November and December, so the camp also covers that return movement. Access is by light aircraft, which is standard for this remote part of the Serengeti.
Nyasi is one of five properties in the Legendary Expeditions collection, placed to cover each stage of the Great Migration's annual circuit. Guests can move between camps as the herds move — from calving season on the southern plains through the rutting season near the Grumeti River and on to the northern crossings at Nyasi. The operator runs the logistics of that sequence across its own properties.
