Leopolis Hotel

Leopolis is a hotel set inside a UNESCO World Heritage building on Teatralna Street, a short walk from Lviv's Market Place and Opera Theatre. Finnish interior architect Marika Aro shaped the rooms, pairing restored furniture with Klaus Haapaniemi textiles and Gubi lighting against the Austro-Hungarian bones of the structure. Nine room types run from 18 to 65 m², from compact Cinema Rooms with a projector and screen to the Balcony Suite at the top of the scale. Signature rooms, at 32 m², keep the building's original layout and add a freestanding bathtub. It is a family-run house. The Hartwall family, once in the Lviv brewery trade, opened Leopolis in 2007 and has run it since. Leo restaurant works local produce into its menu, and Leopolis Bar sits apart from the street outside. A spa adds a sauna, whirlpool and relaxation room, and one of the hotel's old cellars, formerly a bar, now doubles as a shelter. You can hear the square's quiet from the rooms, since through traffic is barred from the immediate streets. Meeting space takes up to 60 people, and the hotel also hosts weddings on its open-air patio or in private rooms indoors. Address is Teatralna Street 16, Lviv.
