L'Hirondelle Guesthouse
A self-catering guesthouse on Praslin, close enough to walk to the sand
Skip to product information
Arriving on Cote d'Or, guests find L'Hirondelle set back from the sand in a garden of its own, a short stroll from the beach itself. The guesthouse works on a self-catering footing: each apartment comes with a stovetop, fridge and kitchenware, so meals can be made at your own pace rather than fixed to a dining room clock. Rooms run from a garden-view apartment to a two-bedroom layout with a balcony over the sea, all fitted with air conditioning and a flat-screen television. It is a small, family-run kind of place. Praslin Island Airport lies about 6 km off, close enough for an easy transfer after landing. Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve, home to the coco de mer palm, sits roughly 4 km inland, while Curieuse Island is reachable by boat for the day. Evenings tend to be quiet, filled with the sound of the sea rather than traffic. Guests can walk to a handful of Creole and seafood restaurants nearby, or cook what the local market has to offer. The garden, planted with a Japanese-style layout, gives the grounds a settled, unhurried feel that suits the pace of the island itself.
