Livingstone Safari Lodge

Set along the Zambezi River on the edge of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, The David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa sits ten kilometres from Victoria Falls. The river runs past the lawn in front of the main lodge, and rooms look straight onto it. There are 72 deluxe rooms and five signature suites, six rooms inter-leading for families and two fitted for guests with disabilities. Signature suites add a private balcony and an indoor jacuzzi. The lodge keeps its own cruiser, the Lady Livingstone, moored beside the property and built for 144 across three decks, used for a daily sundowner run on the river. You can watch the light change over the water from the deck bar most evenings. Three restaurants cover the range: Kalai for Afro-Arabian fusion dinners with river views, Gwembe Terrace for grilled meats and salads by the pool, and the Ujiji Bar for drinks. The spa runs treatments through the day and includes a steam room and plunge pool for guests. Elephants and other wildlife move through the surrounding park, close enough that they sometimes wander near the grounds. From here, Victoria Falls is reachable on both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides, along with canoe trips, game drives and a walk out to Devil's Pool. The lodge also runs conference venues sized for groups from a dozen up to 220.
