Loboc River Resort
The water is the colour of old jade here, flat and slow where the Loboc River curls past the resort's edge. Thirty-five huts stand along the bank, each fitted with air conditioning, a television with cable channels, a mini-bar, and tea and coffee facilities. Wi-Fi reaches every room. Venia's Kitchen opens onto the river itself, an open-air dining room where meals run from Filipino classics to grilled seafood and pizza, with tables looking straight over the current. You can hear the water from the terrace at breakfast, before the boat traffic starts. A pool sits apart from the river for guests who prefer still water to moving. The spa offers three settings: a treatment room with air conditioning, an outdoor massage area called Zen Island, or full-body massage delivered straight to the guest room. Anglers can try the on-site fishpond for an hour of casting, tilapia included, with gear and a cabana supplied. Saturdays bring a grill night by the river and a yoga class at Zen Island for beginners. It is a compact, self-contained stay, built around the river rather than beside it, with the current setting the pace for the rest of the day.
