Londolozi Pioneer Camp
Part of Phasec create
Londolozi sits inside the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which shares an unfenced boundary with Kruger National Park. The reserve covers more than fifteen thousand hectares of traversing land along the Sand River, and lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalo move through without a fence to stop them. The reserve has been running since 1926 and became the first game reserve admitted to Relais & Châteaux, in 1993.
Five camps offer different configurations. Varty Camp and Founders Camp are the larger, family-focused options — children from six years old are welcome, and several chalets interlink for family groups. Tree Camp and the Private Granite Suites do not take children under sixteen unless booked for exclusive use. Pioneer Camp holds three suites in a secluded position on the river and can be arranged as a private homestead for groups of six to twelve. Every suite across all five camps has a private plunge pool.
Game drives run twice daily, morning and afternoon, with a ranger driving and a tracker seated at the front reading spoor. The guiding team carries a combined three hundred and fifty years of field knowledge. The reserve also runs dedicated photographic safaris — private vehicle, professional tutor, and a fully equipped studio for post-processing between drives. Four hundred and fifty bird species have been recorded on the reserve.
The Healing House at Varty Camp offers bodywork and wellness sessions. Daily yoga classes run on a deck built into a five-hundred-year-old ebony tree above the Sand River. The gym at Varty Camp is open to guests from all five camps.
