Lundies House

Lundies House is a guest house in the village of Tongue, on Scotland's north coast, restored by WildLand as part of its long-term work across the Sutherland estates. The house stands near Castle Varrich and the beach at Torrisdale, with the Strathnaver Museum a short drive off. Rooms and apartments come with bathrooms and showers, some with underfloor heating. It is a compact stay. A pool, a garden and a shared lounge give guests places to gather beyond their rooms, alongside study spaces for quieter work. Meals are served on site, so guests need not leave the grounds for dinner after a day on the coast or in the hills. In the courtyard sits Lundies Bothan, a separate self-catering cottage for up to four guests, sleeping two in a double room and two in a twin. WildLand's wider work in Sutherland runs alongside the stay: restoring peatland, letting woodland regenerate, and repairing buildings central to the Tongue community, including the nearby Burrs of Tongue. You can walk to the shore or drive out toward Ben Hope in an afternoon. The house sits at the edge of the Flow Country, recently named a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its blanket bog, giving the stay a working landscape at its back rather than a view alone.
