Luz Charming Houses

Set into a small village rebuilt around older stone houses outside Fátima, Luz Charming Houses reads as a cluster of homes rather than a single block. Architecture draws on nineteenth- and twentieth-century local building styles, with thick-walled houses insulated against the season's heat and cold. The property holds thirteen rooms and suites in total: a master suite, two superior suites, three suites, two double superior deluxe rooms and seven double superior rooms. Room sizes run from 27 m² in the Classic and Charming rooms up to 70 m² in the Master Suite, which sleeps up to six across a double bed and two sofa beds and opens onto a private terrace. Superior Suites add a kitchenette and a fireplace. A natural cave on site is used for massage and wellness treatments drawing on local plants. Two restaurants, Mata Bicho and Terra Rossa, serve regional dishes sourced mostly from producers nearby, and breakfast is taken at the Mother House each morning. Outside, a heated pool sits beside a private deck, and bicycles and electric-car charging are available on request. The village runs on rainwater harvesting, LED lighting and solar water heating. At night, you can walk out past the blue gate and hear little beyond the wind.
