Maetaguse Manor Hotel & Spa

Von Rosen spa hotel is three connected buildings within a manor complex at Mäetaguse, in Ida-Viru County. The stable and coach house, a mill and a greenhouse have been joined into a single hotel, standing alongside the original manor house and facing the storehouse across the estate's old carriage loop. Around ten manor buildings have been restored across the grounds in total. Inside, the hotel keeps just 24 rooms, deliberately compact against the scale of the estate around it. The spa is built around a bathhouse where water and air both sit near 30°C, with long swimming lanes, a massage pool and a jacuzzi. Eight saunas run off the bathing hall, including a separate quiet sauna room set apart from the rest. The restaurant works with produce sourced within 30 km, serving rabbit, lamb and pork alongside local fish, with a courtyard extension open through summer. Manor halls of varying sizes host seminars and groups, a practical carry-over from the estate's working past. You can walk the old estate park on foot, past century-old tree rings and a neo-Gothic chapel built in 1864 beside the manor cemetery. It is a small hotel inside a large restored estate, and the two scales sit close together throughout the stay.
