Maison Dalabua is a quiet cluster of maisons built into a garden on the edge of Luang Prabang's old town. The hotel holds 40 rooms, spread across several low buildings rather than one block, each furnished with a mix of traditional Lao craft and plain modern lines. It sits a short walk from the royal palace, the night market and the town's older temples, close enough to reach on foot yet removed from their crowds. Rooms come fitted with the usual modern comforts, and the layout keeps guests among planted courtyards rather than corridors. A pool and spa anchor the grounds, useful after a day spent on the temple circuit or the markets. You can hear little beyond birdsong and water from most rooms, a fair measure of how far the property sits from the main streets. Staff work in English and French, a nod to the town's long-standing mix of visitors. Check-in runs from 2pm. It is a compact, low-rise stay, built for a slower pace than the old town's tourist strip suggests, and it treats the garden itself as part of the design rather than as backdrop. The result reads less like a hotel and more like a set of houses arranged around water and shade.
