Mama Lova

Built into the medina's tight streets, Mama Lova pairs zellige tile, brushed copper and wood in bathrooms across its five rooms. The hotel holds two duplexes and three suites, ranging from 15 to 33 square metres, each with its own layout and character. Lova 2, the family suite, sleeps up to five people across two bedrooms and a wooden mezzanine. Lova 3, the signature suite, centres on a bathtub that looks onto the patio. A hidden door in Duplex Mama 2 opens straight onto the rooftop. That rooftop runs the width of the building, with a 360-degree view over the medina's rooftops and the Atlantic beyond, and mocktails and mezze served there daily from 6pm. At the top of the hotel sits Soluna, a stone hammam lit by natural light, built for the traditional Moroccan steam ritual. The kitchen works largely vegetarian, drawing on Moroccan and Mediterranean flavours, with room service available at any hour. By day, a coworking corner and café serve guests working through their stay. The medina's old Sqala ramparts and the Ben Youssef mosque are both visible from the terrace. It is a compact stay, five rooms in total, and every one is different. Staff arrange kitesurfing, quad rides, horseback outings and cooking workshops from the front desk, tailored to how long guests are in town.
