Mama Shelter Belgrade

Painted across the restaurant ceiling, a graffiti mural traces the bends of the Danube, setting the tone for a hotel that treats decoration as conversation rather than backdrop. Mama Shelter Belgrade occupies the fourth floor of a shopping centre above one of the city's pedestrian streets, in the historic core where cafés and communist-era blocks sit within a few minutes' walk of each other. Jalil Amor designed all 125 rooms, from the 18 m² Medium to the XXL, which runs from 37 to 48 m² and can sleep up to six across a two-bedroom layout with its own terrace. Rooms are soundproofed. Each comes with organic amenities and free films, X-rated titles included, a detail the brand states plainly rather than hides. Downstairs, the restaurant serves a Mediterranean-Slavic menu overseen by the food and beverage team, built around wood-fired pizza and dishes meant for sharing at communal tables. You can watch the sun set behind Belgrade's Citadel from the 500 m² rooftop, where a bar, table football and table tennis sit alongside seating for both quiet corners and larger groups. Evenings there often run to a DJ set. A gym on site covers cardio and weights, with views over the city while you work out. The hotel also runs five meeting rooms, sized from 23 to 93 m², fitted with LED screens and Bose sound systems for events up to eighty people.
