Built into Hanover Square, the hotel occupies one of Mayfair's established addresses, close to the galleries and boutiques that line Bond Street. Studio Indigo designed the suites, working British elegance in alongside touches drawn from Mandarin Oriental's oriental heritage, and de Gournay artisans spent more than 9,000 hours hand-painting the magnolia wallpaper found through the property. Rooms run from Deluxe to Studio Suite, each with a marble bathroom and floor-to-ceiling windows. It is a compact hierarchy of space. The Mayfair Suite and Hanover Suite sit at the top of the range, forming the Mayfair Signature Suite Collection, with dedicated living areas and walk-in wardrobes. Two- and three-bedroom Residences add open kitchens and washing machines for longer stays, while a four-bedroom penthouse offers a private terrace with 180-degree city views. Suite guests get a complimentary Rolls-Royce house car within a one-mile radius, a glass of Champagne at the rooftop Hanover Bar, and round-trip airport transfers on stays of two nights or more. Downstairs, the spa holds a 25-metre indoor pool, vitality pools, sauna and steam room. You can hear Hanover Square's traffic soften by the time you reach the rooftop, where the bar looks out over Mayfair's rooftops at dusk.
