Mandarin Palace
The Mandarin Palace is a hotel address on Tangier's Avenue du Front de Mer, built around a restaurant, a rooftop, and a pool club rather than a single grand facade. Rooms and suites look out over the hills of Cape Malabata or the sea, and oak floors and art-deco furniture run through the double deluxe rooms, which start at 30 m2. The Junior Suite is larger, from 50 m2, with a private terrace facing the water and the Cape Malabata hills; it sleeps up to four. La Brasserie de Paris, the hotel's restaurant, was named to a top 25 list of luxury restaurants in Morocco by the Luxury Lifestyle Awards in 2020. It serves grilled fish, revisited tagines, and dishes built around foie gras and truffle, under a room of large windows facing the bay. Upstairs, the Nouba rooftop looks over the bay of Tangier. It is built for evening drinks rather than daytime lounging. La Turquoise, the hotel's pool, sits apart from both, styled as a beach club with its own food service by the water. All rooms carry air conditioning, a safe, and free wifi, with organic Botanika toiletries as standard. It stands about 6 km from Cape Malabata and about 6 km from the American Legation Museum. Breakfast is continental, served in the restaurant each morning.
