Set on Batteaux Bay in Speyside, on Tobago's windward coast, Manta Lodge and Dive Centre faces water calmed by Goat Island and Little Tobago, which block the rougher swells of the Atlantic beyond. The result is a sheltered, olive-green bay favoured by snorkellers and divers as much as swimmers. The lodge itself holds 20 rooms, each with a private balcony facing the Caribbean Sea, air conditioning, a mini-fridge, and a coffeemaker. Ocean View, Standard, and King Bed rooms are on offer, along with a mobility-accessible room fitted with roll-in showers and shower seats. Below the lodge, a dive centre runs PADI courses from beginner to instructor level, with certified guides leading trips out to the world's largest single brain coral colony and several wreck sites nearby. It is a compact stay, built around the water rather than around itself. A renovated pool and poolside bar sit apart from the beach for guests who want the sea in view but not underfoot, and Coral Cove Restaurant and Bar serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner using local seafood and Caribbean flavours. The Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2011, lies within reach for hikers, and Argyle Falls is a short drive off. Check-in runs from 3pm, with late check-out available on request.
