Mara Siligi Camp
Set into the foothills of Oldonyo Loip Hill, near Talek, Mara Siligi Camp keeps its footprint small: ten tented suites, each with a private bathroom, walk-in shower, desk and clothes rack. The camp sits ten minutes from Mpuaai Gate and fifteen from Talek Gate, close to the Olare Motorogi and Naboisho conservancies. It is a family-run operation, not a chain, and the same Maasai guide who leads the morning game drive often walks with guests at dawn and sits with them at a village visit later in the week. Days run around two drives, morning and evening, with a bush breakfast set up in open country on request, eggs and coffee served with nothing between the table and the horizon. There is no artificial light nearby, so the stargazing sessions run under an unbroken sky, guides pointing out the stars the Maasai have long used to track seasons and cattle. Between drives, guests can sit on a private deck above the river, where hippos move below and birds land close by, or use the on-site lounge, campfire area and Wi-Fi. Beadwork workshops with local artisans round out the cultural side. The camp draws power from solar panels and keeps its communal spaces unhurried, built for a handful of guests rather than a crowd.
