Marari Dreamz

Showered under a tamarind or coconut tree, open to the sky through a part-covered roof, is the daily ritual here. Marari Dreamz is a family-run homestay in the village of Mararikulam, on Kerala's coast, built around six villas named for the trees that shade them. Three keep their own plunge pool; the other three share a common one set among gardens. Each has a private balcony, an en-suite outdoor bathroom, and air conditioning against the tropical heat. The beach sits five minutes away on foot. Its sand runs wide and warm, with crabs working the shoreline and, on quiet mornings, dolphins offshore. The owners, Allwyn and Jency, live on-site with their family, and Jency cooks every meal herself, working Kerala spice blends into thalis, tuna biryani, and seafood curries eaten on a private terrace. Bicycles are free to guests, useful for the flat lanes toward the village temple and market, both within a short ride. Fishermen still launch traditional boats off the beach at dawn, and canoe trips through the backwaters can be arranged on request. Yoga sessions run most days, taught outdoors. It is a small, personal stay, closer to staying with a Kerala family than checking into a hotel, and it runs on that footing throughout.
