Montetaxco Hotel & Resort

Taxco de Alarcón spreads below the hotel, its colonial rooftops and silver shops reachable by the resort's own cable car strung across the hillside. Hotel Montetaxco holds 156 rooms, suites and villas built into the slope above the town, each with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and access to a heated pool that stays open through the day. The Deluxe Panorámica rooms face the town directly, with rustic decor and wide windows built for the view. A Villa Master sleeps families in its own separate living space. Grounds include a nine-hole golf course, a spa, three restaurants and a bar, with tables set both indoors and on open-air terraces. You can hear music from the terrace on weekend nights, when the hotel runs a Mexican-night programme of live bands, dance and fireworks. Days run slower: giant chess, ping pong and golf are all included for guests staying in any room category. The cable car itself is the property's signature, carrying visitors over pine slopes and valley folds between the hotel and the town centre below. Event spaces, including the Salón Christian and Salón Casa Club, host meetings and celebrations across several halls. Parking is free and the front desk runs around the clock. It is Taxco's only hotel with a private cable car.
