Moorea Island Beach Hotel

Paddling out from the sand each morning, guests reach a lagoon that stays calm behind its outer reef, kayaks and non-electric bikes included at no charge. Moorea Island Beach Hotel sits on the island's northwest coast, in Haapiti, on a stretch of white beach protected from open swell. The hotel keeps just twelve bungalows, three facing the sea directly, three with a partial view, and six looking onto the garden; a separate family villa adds two bedrooms around a shared living room. Each bungalow runs about 20 square metres, air-conditioned, with a double bed, a small fridge, and a terrace set with a table and two chairs. There is no restaurant on site beyond breakfast. Instead, guests share a communal kitchen in the open-sided lounge, cooking their own lunches or sundowners under a roof that faces due west. It is a short walk to eight restaurants and a handful of shops, a pharmacy, and a fuel station. Snorkelling starts right off the beach, where rays and small sharks sometimes pass close to shore. The lounge's solarium terraces, one social, one quieter, look out past the sand to the water, and staff will arrange scooters, cars, or a restaurant table on request. Check-in runs from 1pm.
