Moshir al-Mamalek Garden Hotel

Guests enter through a garden laid out at the edge of Yazd's old quarter, on the city's northwest side. The hotel is built inside this garden, and its architecture keeps entirely to local tradition rather than importing a modern shell. Creeks and fountains run through the grounds, and rooms line both sides of the garden in the courtyard style typical of the region's desert building, known locally as Kavir architecture. It is a compact, low arrangement rather than a tower. Room types range from standard and double to triple and four-bed configurations, along with suites, each opening onto the greenery rather than a corridor. Three restaurants and one coffee shop serve the property, and guests can choose to eat outdoors in the garden itself, beside the water. A small shop within the grounds sells Iranian handicrafts, and an artefact room gives guests something to look at beyond the plantings. The hotel also runs a gym for those who want it. Conference halls and meeting rooms, each built to hold up to 300 people, sit within the same traditional framework of vaulted ceilings and patterned brickwork. Check-in and daily life here move at the pace of the garden rather than the street, and the surrounding roads keep the rest of Yazd within easy reach.
