Stargazing

The southern Kalahari has little light pollution and dry air, which keeps its night skies unusually clear. Stargazing at Motse is informal rather than fixed to one spot: it might happen from a private deck, during a pause on a night drive, or from a lookout chosen among the dunes. Guides point out constellations visible in the Southern Hemisphere and share the stories behind them, drawing on both astronomy and local Kalahari tradition. No telescope or set programme is required, just a dark stretch of sky and someone who knows it well.
