Mujuan
Set on a hillside above Atami Bay, Hotel Mujuan keeps to three floors and one suite per floor, so only three parties stay at a time. Every room looks out over the bay and comes with its own natural hot spring bath drawn from a local spring, weakly alkaline and reputed to soften skin. The Premium Suite occupies the top floor and sleeps up to six; one of its two bathtubs sits on an open-air terrace with an uninterrupted view. It is a compact stay. The Deluxe Suite on the floor below has a bedroom set beside the living room, positioned to catch the sunrise over the water. The Luxury Suite on the third floor takes cues from an overseas resort, its bath decor built around the sea view. Rooms come stocked with yukata robes, skincare sets and a shared washer-dryer down the corridor, though there is no elevator, so guests should plan for stairs. Breakfast is served buffet-style in the second-floor restaurant; dinner is not offered on site, but a rooftop terrace can be booked for barbecue, and a private chef or sushi delivery can be arranged in advance. Check-in runs from 3pm to 6pm. The town centre and Kinomiya Shrine lie a short drive away, and a courtesy pickup can be arranged from Atami station.
