Mystic Sands Beachfront Accommodation

White sand runs to the water's edge, twenty-five metres from the garden room's deck and closer still for the four rooms that face the beach directly. The lagoon here reads turquoise at midday and darker toward the reef line, with distant islands sitting on the horizon beyond the pool. Mystic Sands keeps just eight rooms on this stretch of 'Utungake, plus a two-bedroom waterfront house with its own deck over the channel leading into Neiafu harbour. Each beachfront room has a king bed that splits into twins, a small kitchenette, and its own screened veranda facing the water. You can snorkel straight off the sand, mask and fins supplied, or take one of the free kayaks out along the coastline. An infinity pool sits above the beach for days when the sea feels like too much effort. There is no restaurant on site, but staff will cook to order and serve meals in an over-water fale or on the room's own deck; breakfast comes included. Housekeeping runs daily except Sunday, with linen changed every two to three days. The town of Neiafu, with its restaurants and a 24-hour taxi service, is a short drive away, and boat trips for whale watching and the Blue Lagoon leave from nearby. Check-in is at midday, check-out at 10am.
