Namia River Retreat
Guests arrive by boat or bicycle to a resort set on Con Ba Xa, a small islet where the Thu Bon River meets a stretch of nipa palm forest outside Hoi An. Every villa here has its own pool, facing the water or the palms, and every stay includes a 90-minute wellness routine each night: a 30-minute hydrotherapy session followed by an hour of traditional Vietnamese therapy. The treatments draw on Southern Herbology, a folk medicine practice still used daily across Vietnam, and are developed with local herbalists and traditional doctors. At Lumina Wellbeing & Spa, guests choose their own herbal remedies at a traditional apothecary before a steam session and massage; the spa has eight herbal steam rooms and a river-view terrace with sauna and cold plunge. Two restaurants anchor the food side. The Merchant serves Vietnamese and international dishes with farm-to-table duck and Vietnamese-origin coffee, seating up to a hundred across two floors and a terrace. The Fisherman, poolside and open only to guests, cooks the day's catch from the Cham Islands over fire. A shuttle boat runs guests into Hoi An's old town on a set schedule, and a sunset cruise along the Thu Bon is included most evenings. It is a quiet, structured kind of stay.
