Nanny Cay Resort

Boats arrive first here. Nanny Cay is a working marina before it is a hotel, with berths for 300 yachts split between an outer basin for monohulls and an inner harbour that takes vessels of all sizes, plus a boatyard handling repairs, painting and storage. The hotel sits within this, 52 rooms across two wings on Tortola's south coast, between Road Town and West End. Rooms in the original garden wing occupy the ground and second floors of a building with a history stretching back to the 1960s; the newer Seaview wing, opened in 2020, stacks Superior rooms below and Premium rooms on top, each over 400 square feet with a balcony facing the Sir Francis Drake Channel. Two- and three-bedroom villas add private docks for guests arriving by boat rather than road. A freshwater pool looks out over the channel, and a private beach sits a short walk from every room. On site, a chandlery, a superette, two hair and spa outlets, and three restaurants serve both hotel guests and the yacht crews tied up at the docks. The marina office runs seven days a week, and check-in is from 3pm. It is a place built around the tide of arrivals and departures rather than around stillness, and it shows.
