Ngorongoro Kuhama Camp occupies the Lemala Extra private campsite, set along the high rim of the crater a few hundred metres from the Lemala descent route. The crater floor — where lion, buffalo, elephant, and rhino move in large numbers — is roughly fifteen minutes by vehicle from camp. The camp holds sixteen walk-in tents on wooden floors, each furnished with twin or triple beds of tropical hardwood, bedside tables, and a verandah with two safari chairs. The en-suite bathroom at the far end of each tent has a hand washbasin, flush toilet, and a bucket shower fed with water heated to order.

The camp runs entirely on solar power. Three cooked meals are served daily in the mess tent; lunch and dinner are three courses each. One side of the mess tent has a small lounge where guests can charge devices, and the camp has Wi-Fi. Evenings gather around a campfire before dinner.

After dark, movement around camp is accompanied by a Maasai guard — a practical rule given that buffalo and hyena have been recorded walking through the site at night. Secure parking is available for self-drive visitors.
