Buniga Batwa Experience

A day in the forest with Batwa guides, who once lived in Bwindi before it became a national park. Local pygmy hosts lead a hike through the trees, showing how they hunted, foraged and built shelter, with a chance to try a bow and arrow. Visitors see traditional homesteads and hear how families shared such small huts, and which plants served as medicine. An anthropologist worked with Batwa elders to shape the programme, and it closes with communal dancing, a tradition the Batwa have long carried into nearby villages. Proceeds support Batwa schooling and healthcare.
