Noam Bora Bora

Built low against the water, with timber frames left open to catch the trade wind, Noam Bora Bora sits on its own stretch of sand on Motu Roa, facing the lagoon on one side and open ocean on the other. Wood dominates throughout: dark, load-bearing beams overhead, pale decking underfoot. The villa runs to 1,000 sqm across three levels and holds six suites for up to twelve guests. The master suite alone covers 100 sqm, with a private terrace and 360-degree views over water on both flanks. Below ground, a corridor of seawater connects to a 290-cubic-metre aquarium, viewable from the spa, sauna and cold plunge. You can watch reef fish move past the glass without leaving the building. Outside, a private lagoon and beach front the property, with an outdoor pool, jacuzzi and a traditional Polynesian fare pote'e used for open-air dining. A resident marine biologist runs daily sessions for guests who want to snorkel beyond the reef edge rather than just look at it through glass. Meals are cooked to order by a private chef and served indoors or out, with seating for fourteen on the terrace. Check-in runs from 4pm. It is a private island stay, not a resort, and the pace follows the tide rather than a schedule.
