Onguma Forest Camp occupies a dry riverbed channel on a thirty-four-thousand-hectare private reserve that shares a boundary with Etosha National Park. The camp is unfenced, which means game moves through freely — and also means children under seven are not permitted.

Eleven thatched bungalows are arranged across four room types. The four Heritage Bungalows sit among the trees with twin beds and en-suite bathrooms. Three Bush Suites each hold two bedrooms with an interleading bathroom, sleeping up to four adults, making them the practical choice for families. Three Explorer Bungalows are the newer addition, more private and set apart. The Honeymoon Bungalow adds a wood-fired hot tub on a raised deck and an outdoor shower. All bungalows have air conditioning, a ceiling fan, minibar, safe, mosquito net, and a private patio.

The central area — bar, lounge, and dining room, all thatched — looks over a waterhole. Dinner is typically served outside under the sky, and the wine cellar is part of the evening: guests tour it and choose their bottle before sitting down.

Activities run in two directions. On the reserve: sundowner drives, guided bush walks with an armed ranger, and the Onkolo water-level hide, which sits at waterhole height and is used by both wildlife photographers and casual visitors. Off the reserve: guided game drives into Etosha, the twenty-two-thousand-seven-hundred-and-fifty-square-kilometre national park directly adjacent. The reserve itself holds more than thirty animal species and over three hundred bird species. A private airstrip serves guests arriving by light aircraft.
