Our Habitas Ras Abrouq

Arrival at Ras Abrouq means a drive west from Doha, roughly an hour, ending at a stretch of limestone dunes on the edge of the Al-Reem Biosphere Reserve. The road runs past the Zekreet Rock Formation and Richard Serra's steel sculptures planted in the desert nearby. Forty-eight villas sit between the cliffs and the Arabian Gulf, each with its own plunge pool and an outdoor deck built for the heat to lift by evening. Sizes range from a one-bedroom Brouq Villa at 83 m² to the four-bedroom Lula Royal Villa at up to 620 m², steps from the shore with its own beach access. Rooms lean on earthy tones and local textiles rather than ornament. Qissa, the on-site restaurant, serves Qatari, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes indoors or on a terrace facing the water. A beach bar, padel courts and a wellness centre round out the grounds. Guests can join a sunset desert safari, try pottery workshops, or simply watch light change over the rock formations that give the area its name. You can hear the Gulf from most decks after dark, with the desert silent behind. It is a quiet stretch of coast, not a resort strip, and the villas are spaced to keep it that way.
