Oyster Bay Estate
Inhambane's stretch of coast has long drawn anglers to its bay, and Oyster Bay Beach Resort sits on that same shoreline in the Jangamo district. The resort began as a cluster of self-catering casas rather than a hotel block, and that arrangement holds: four two-bedroom chalets, two three-bedroom chalets, a three-bedroom house and a one-bedroom cottage, each fully furnished with its own kitchen, gas hob and electric geyser. Casa Amigos and Casa 7 come with braai areas and a pool or lake view; Casa Almaky and Casa Neil pair a main house with a separate cottage, each with its own splash pool. Sea views reach most units from an undercover patio. Rock and tide pools sit along the shore, shallow enough to explore on foot at low water, and the Indian Ocean here holds barracuda, marlin, dorado, kingfish and tuna within reach of both boat and shoreline casting. A five-minute drive brings guests to the bay itself for launching. Back at the resort, a restaurant and bar serve grilled seafood alongside a pool with thatched umbrellas. It is a self-catering base, not a full-service hotel. Snorkelling gear is worth packing; the water off the rocks stays calm enough for a slow look at what lives beneath it.
