Paje Blu Boutique Hotel

Built around a blue-tiled pool that runs 30 metres end to end, Paje Blu is a small hotel with a modern, uncluttered feel. It is a compact stay. Twelve suites, in Pool View and Sea View categories, run from 36 to 40 m² and open onto private balconies or terraces, most arranged to look straight over the water. Rooms come with air conditioning, minibars, walk-in closets, and extra-long beds, and at least one suite is fitted for wheelchair access. The beach itself lies just 150 metres away, part of Zanzibar's east coast where reef breaks make Paje a known base for kite surfing. Meals run through the day at the in-house restaurant, which serves grilled fish, seafood pasta, and pizza alongside Swahili dishes, with breakfast served from 7:30am and the kitchen open into the evening. A pool bar keeps the same late hours for drinks by the water. Guests can also book massages, manicures, and couples' treatments through the small spa, or reserve one of the shaded cabanas beside the pool. An airport shuttle covers the drive from the nearest airport in under an hour, depending on traffic.
