Pakruojis Manor Hotel

Guests sleep inside the palace itself. Pakruojis Manor's Palace Hotel occupies the classicist central building of a manor complex first recorded in written sources in 1531, later held by the von der Ropp family. The building carries a two-storey portico with Doric columns and an oval hall at its centre. Eleven rooms open here, each finished differently and named for its history and atmosphere. None has a television, a deliberate omission meant to keep the nineteenth-century mood intact. Windows look onto the manor's flower gardens, which change with the seasons and stay lit with colour even in winter. Check-in runs from 3pm and check-out until noon. The hotel sits at the centre of a wider estate that includes a restaurant, a distillery, a pharmacy building dating to 1866, stables, and a water mill sauna on the Kruoja River. Guests can walk to the Manor Palace Restaurant, where meals are served in a candlelit dining room used historically by the manor's own barons. You can also book massages or sauna time nearby, or wander the wider grounds on foot or by bicycle. It is a dense, self-contained place to stay, built for slow exploration rather than quick transit through the region.
