Peri-Peri Dive Camp
Eight rooms, one reef camp, on Morrungulo's coconut-lined shore

Set among coconut plantations on Morrungulo Beach, in Mozambique's Inhambane province, Peri-Peri Dive Camp runs a short stretch of sand down to the Indian Ocean. The beach lies about 300 metres from the camp and is safe for swimming. It is a compact stay. The lodge holds eight en-suite rooms, sleeping up to sixteen guests, with six of them facing the sea. Cascabella and Malagueta come with private decks and open ocean views, while the four smaller rooms take single or double bed configurations, and the remaining rooms carry their own sea-facing decks. Every room has air conditioning, Wi-Fi and Sine Wave power outlets built for camera and dive-computer batteries alike. Guests can dive multiple inshore reefs on foot-launched boats, with the camp's far-reef sites, including Benchmark and Matswa, reached on longer runs. Beyond diving, the camp offers surf and fly fishing, deep-sea boat trips and snorkelling straight off the beach. A restaurant and bar serve the property, and a communal lounge holds darts, satellite television and streaming for evenings between dives. There is a swimming pool for guests who prefer to stay dry. Laundry service and hot water systems round out the practical side of a camp built primarily around getting people into the water and back out again with a full tank and a lollipop.
