Wadi Musa base steps from Petra's gate, rooms with mountain views included

Wadi Musa's town centre is the starting point for most visits to Petra, and this hotel sits within it, close enough that the walk to the site's entrance takes minutes rather than a taxi ride. Rooms and suites are straightforward: air conditioning, a sitting area, satellite television, a safe and a private bathroom. The Deluxe rooms and the Executive Suite face the surrounding hills, and the view holds even at dusk, when the stone turns from pale gold to grey. A family room and a deluxe triple sleep larger groups without a change of layout logic. Awtar, the in-house restaurant, runs buffet breakfast through to dinner and a hi-tea sitting, serving both local and international dishes. Staff are the recurring note in guest accounts, praised repeatedly by name for steering people toward the right entrance times and quieter trails. The Sunset Terrace catches the last light over the valley. It is a compact stay, built around one purpose: getting travellers to Petra rested, fed, and on time.
