Petra Moon Luxury
Descended from Nabatean traditions of hospitality, Petra Moon Luxury Hotel stands at the edge of Wadi Musa, a short walk from the Petra Visitors' Center. The Nabateans built a trading kingdom out of this dry, rock-cut land, and the hotel's owners, with two decades in the trade, have carried forward the local custom of generosity toward guests, known here as Hatt Alaya. The building holds eighty rooms, six of them junior suites with in-room jacuzzis, alongside a main restaurant, two cafés and the largest ballroom in Petra. It is a substantial stay for a small desert town. Deluxe and twin rooms run to 36 square metres, with blackout curtains and VRF air conditioning; junior suites reach 50 square metres and add a private hot jacuzzi. A rooftop terrace circles a heated pool and a gym, facing the surrounding mountains. Guests can hear little from the terrace beyond the wind and the occasional call of the town below. Staff include a deliberate mix of local men and women, trained under long-serving management. Breakfast runs each morning at the Fig Tree Restaurant, with lunch and dinner service through the evening. Check-in and daily housekeeping follow standard hotel practice, with extra service on request.
