Point Grace
Thirty suites on Grace Bay, named for a nineteenth-century bride
Point Grace is named for a woman who never stayed there. In 1892 Grace Hutchings sailed from Grand Turk to honeymoon on the hills above what is now Providenciales, and local residents later gave her name to the twelve-mile beach along the north shore. It holds thirty suites and penthouses, one to four bedrooms each, most with terraces facing the sand or the gardens behind it. Oceanfront three-bedroom suites run to 2,600 square feet. Grace's Cottage, the on-site restaurant, serves French-Caribbean food for breakfast and dinner beneath gazebos and a tiled bar backdrop, and has picked up a Wine Spectator award for its list. A Thalassotherapy spa sits in three white-washed buildings near the dune, its treatment suites open to the sea air, drawing on techniques and products from Thalgo in France. The hotel has been named the Caribbean's leading boutique property in past industry awards. It is a compact stay. Grace Bay's marine park lies just offshore, and guests can hear the surf from the spa's open-roofed showers. Shops, restaurants and other Providenciales attractions are within walking distance of the property.
