Ponte Pedra Rural Tourism
Santiago do Cacém's coast meets open fields at this adults-only country house
Skip to product information
Guests arrive at Ponte Pedra by turning off the main routes into open countryside, seven kilometres from the village of Melides and 10 kilometres from Santiago do Cacém. The house takes adults only, and no pets are allowed. Days here settle into a slow rhythm: breakfast made with local products, an outdoor pool, bicycles for the ride toward the coast, and beaches reached in a few minutes by car. It is a quiet base. Two cottages, Casa da Lareira and Casa do Lagar, stand fully independent with their own entrance, a private patio and parking at the door, each around 40 square metres with one bedroom, a living room built around a wood-burning stove and a small kitchen. The superior rooms run smaller, 20 to 22 square metres, sleeping two or three under a queen or king bed, each with its own entrance, private patio and bathroom, air conditioning and Wi-Fi, set close to the pool with views over the pool or the fields beyond. The property is a member of Biosphere Portugal, tied to a programme for responsible tourism. There is a bar for light meals and a yoga programme for anyone who wants it. The pace is unhurried, the land does the work, and the sea stays close but out of sight until you choose to find it.
