Canoeing

The Chifungulu Channel, a fourteen-kilometre stretch of the Zambezi, begins just 100 metres downstream of camp, inside the National Park. A qualified canoe guide leads the paddle along its banks, where game is viewed from water level looking up, rather than from land looking down. Trips run from one to seven hours; a one-hour outing works well as a lead-in to an evening game drive. The current does the work, so no experience or strength is required, just time to listen to the birdlife and take in the scenery. Minimum age for canoeing is fifteen years.
