PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort, Convention Centre & Spa
Arrival is by the water: a swimming pool and direct beach access sit at the centre of PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort & Spa, on Shanzu Beach north of Mombasa city. The resort is both a family stop and a conference venue, an unusual combination on this stretch of coast. Rooms and suites open onto private balconies facing the pool or the ocean, finished with locally made textiles and feature walls drawn from coastal Kenyan design. Family suites set aside a separate area for children; the Paradise Suite adds a lounge and wide windows over the water. Five restaurants and bars cover the day's turns: Dau Restaurant seats up to 500 for Swahili-inspired buffets and live cooking, while the Infinity Deck Bar sits above the shoreline for evening drinks. Kone Kone Lounge opens straight onto the beach. Children have their own club for ages five to twelve, and the Aqua Park runs on a million litres of water with slides shaped around a Big Five theme. Business runs on a separate track. The Bamboo Ocean Spa and Uzima Gym round out the leisure side. It is a resort built to hold a wedding party and a corporate retreat on the same afternoon, without either noticing the other.
