Quinta de Santa Clara
Three villa types set among the farms above Ponta Delgada
Skip to product information
Set in a quarter of São Miguel long given over to farms, or quintas, Quinta de Santa Clara sits a short walk from the historic centre of Ponta Delgada. The name marks the land's old use, and the property keeps something of that working, planted character in its gardens, where vegetable beds grow alongside aromatic herbs. Three villa types make up the stay: a one-bedroom villa, of which there are five; two family villas with two bedrooms; and a larger two-bedroom villa at the heart of the grounds, referred to on-site as the main house. Each has its own terrace and a kitchen fitted for proper cooking, along with a living and dining area, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a TV. It is a self-catering stay, built for longer visits rather than a single night. The decor runs modern, with rustic touches, in wood and simple lines that nod to the quinta's rural setting. A pool sits at the centre of the property, ringed by planting that gives it a shaded, private feel; the wider garden, layered in green, invites a slow walk rather than a quick pass-through. Parking is available on-site. From here, the volcanic hills and coast of São Miguel are within easy reach by car, while the town's shops, restaurants and harbour lie close enough to walk.
