Raffles Makkah Palace
Raffles Makkah Palace is part of the Abraj Al Bait Complex, built beside Al Masjid Al Haram and the Kaaba it encloses. The hotel opened as the brand's expansion into the Middle East strengthened, joining a shopping centre, a prayer hall built for 10,000 worshippers, a convention centre, a museum and a lunar observatory within the same complex. It is close to Jabal Al Nour and Jabal Thawr, both tied to the city's religious history. The hotel counts 219 suites, each with air conditioning, a kettle, a refrigerator and an en-suite bathroom. Many suites look directly onto the Kaaba and the mosque below. A private entrance connects the hotel straight into the Haram, and dedicated lifts run guests from the Clock Towers Complex to the lobby. You can take a meal on the terrace at Al Majlis and watch the mosque courtyard fill for prayer. Other dining ranges from an all-day buffet at Al Qasr to a tea lounge serving cakes and coffee. Butler service runs 24 hours, alongside a spa and a full gym over two floors. A private prayer area sits within the hotel itself. Guided tours to Makkah's historic sites can be arranged, and airport transfers run to and from Jeddah on request. It is a five-minute walk to the Grand Mosque.
