Relais Fenua

Le Relais Fenua is a family-run guesthouse set into a tropical garden in Punaauia, on Tahiti's west coast. It is a compact stay, with eleven rooms and studios finished in a local style, using natural materials such as woven pandanus and timber. Rooms run from 20 to 25 square metres and come in double, triple, and family configurations, each with a private terrace, air conditioning, and a courtesy tray of tea and coffee. Studios add a kitchenette with two induction burners and a small fridge, useful for anyone cooking their own meals. You can walk to Vaiava beach in five minutes, the only stretch of white sand on the island, with a lagoon suited to snorkelling. A pool and terrace sit steps from the rooms, and a bar opens each evening from 5.30pm with a daily cocktail and a wider drinks list, served poolside or on the reception terrace. Parking is provided on site. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, with separate menus for children. It is a straightforward, garden-set base rather than a resort, built around the rhythms of a small, family-run house.
