Riad Dar Tiflet

Breakfast on the rooftop terrace comes with the Koutoubia's minaret rising over the medina rooftops. Riad Dar Tiflet was once the home of a Berber spice merchant, a house now a century old and fully restored in the Medina, roughly 100 metres from Ben Saleh Square. The original vaults, zellige tilework and central patio remain, set against plainer lines and softer colour that read as distinctly modern. Rooms carry air conditioning, safes, hairdryers and Wi-Fi, alongside a resident host, a garden and a 24-hour front desk. The Berber lounge serves as a common room for reading or conversation. Meals are cooked to order and served by reservation, with a daily set menu of tagine, couscous and pastilla, plus vegetarian and allergy-friendly options on request. The rooftop also runs an alcohol-free bar, the Tiflet Counter, open to the view over the medina. It is a compact stay, built around a quiet patio rather than a lobby. Beyond the riad, the house arranges half-day trips into the stony Agafay desert, walking days in the Ourika valley, and longer runs to the dunes of Zagora or Merzouga, along with a Marrakesh city tour and a hands-on tajine and couscous class. A hammam session and a hot air balloon flight over the Atlas foothills round out the list. Transfers for excursions are included.
