Rūmene Manor
Row a lake, sauna in the woods, wake in a manor house

Set behind a run of cherry-tree lanes outside Kandava, the manor's main house still keeps its dining rooms and sitting rooms in a formal, unhurried arrangement, the kind built for a household rather than a hotel. Rūmenes muiža gathers four buildings on one estate: the Main Manor House, the Garden House, the Stable and an Event Barn used for gatherings and exhibitions. The Garden House stands a short walk from the manor, its two floors holding three rustic suites, each with its own bathroom and a view over the park. A shared living room with a fireplace and a Finnish sauna sits between them, along with a small kitchenette. Across the wider estate there are 25 rooms and apartments in total, with space for up to 70 guests overnight. Outdoors, a lake holds one row boat and two paddle boards on a first-come basis, and guests can swim, fish with their own gear, or watch birds along its edge. A separate sauna house, run by a sauna master, anchors the estate's slower pace. It is a working piece of countryside, not a hotel campus. The grounds stay closed to non-guests, reached only with a booking, and lie roughly an hour's drive from Riga and fifty minutes from the old town of Kuldīga.
