Sama Al Areesh Desert Camp

Al Qabil marks the edge of the Wahiba Sands, and Sama Al Areesh sits right where the road gives way to dune. The camp is built along that line, close enough that guests can walk straight up the sand from their door. Rooms are laid out as individual cottages, each with its own bathroom and outside seating, plain in style but properly equipped: air conditioning, hot showers, comfortable beds. The deluxe rooms face the dunes directly, catching the sunset as the sand shifts colour through the evening. It is not a remote camp. The main road runs close by, so arrival needs no serious off-roading, yet the dunes rise immediately behind the tents and the desert feel holds. A shared outdoor seating area anchors the camp's social side, where meals are taken and evenings pass under open sky. From here, staff arrange dune bashing by four-by-four, camel rides into the Sharqiya sands, and a majlis set up on the dunes at sunset with tea and coffee. Wadi Bani Khalid, with its rock pools and palms, lies within reach for a day trip. The camp keeps things simple: good food, a bed that works, and sand at the doorstep.
