After-dark drives that track the Mara's nocturnal life

This goes well beyond a spotlight sweep on the way home from sundowners. Guides head out with soup in a flask and a packed dinner, watching the plains change character once the sun drops and the stars take over. Red-filtered beams are used first, so animals aren't startled, as trackers search for lion prides stirring for a hunt. Once found, the team switches to infrared floodlights and cameras, letting guests observe the animals through the lens without disturbing them. The quiet and the dark sky alone make the outing worthwhile, even before any sighting.
