Early Morning Walks
On foot through the Serengeti with Hadzabe and Mangati guides
Skip to product information
Walking replaces the vehicle here, at a slower pace that sharpens the senses. Guides include Hadzabe and Mangati trackers, and often Mzee Nyuki, who points out beehives and explains the medicinal use of local plants along the way. The open landscape of Serengeti South suits this kind of exploration, away from roads and tracks, close to the ground detail of an ecosystem: tracks, insects, plants, and the small signs a vehicle would pass over. Guide Alex Walker, who grew up walking the bush with his father's trackers, leads many of these outings. It is a quieter, more attentive way to read the same terrain.
