Shati Hee Village House

Mount Kanchenjunga fills the skyline behind Hee village, and the homestay's small house sits apart from the owner's own home, giving guests a patch of quiet at 1,800 metres. Fields run right up to the walls. The building holds two bedrooms, both renovated and each with its own bathroom, plus a prayer room floored and walled in wood, with Buddha figures set along one side. You can hear little beyond wind and the odd farm sound from the terrace. Meals come from the family kitchen: morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner, drawn largely from produce grown nearby. Days run to village walks, hiking, and treks organised with the family, who also handle transfers. There is no restaurant beyond the house table and no bar; the pace is set by the household, not a front desk. It is a small stay, built for direct contact with a Sikkimese family rather than for scale. Wi-fi and mobile signal reach the rooms, laundry is arranged on request, and English is spoken throughout. The result reads less like a booked room than a household that happens to take guests, mountain framed in the window and fields for a front garden.
